Justine Compton
Practice
Before becoming a Barrister, Justine was a solicitor with the Community Law Partnership in Birmingham specialising in Gypsy and Traveller law and general housing law.
Justine has also worked at Cambridge District CAB and Warwick District CAB as a specialist Housing and Debt worker, representing clients in respect of homelessness, repossession and social security issues. During this time, Justine gained an LLM in Welfare Law at Leicester University.
Justine undertook pupillage at 1 Pump Court and is now a member of the Civil and Public Law Group specialising in Housing, Gypsy and Traveller and Public law.
Justine is also a freelance trainer for Shelter, the national homeless charity and for the last 5 years has been a Trustee (now Treasurer) of Friends Families and Travellers, a national advice and information unit for Gypsies and Travellers.
She is trained in direct access.
