Practice
John has extensive experience at the criminal bar, defending in many serious cases covering a wide range of offences. He successfully defended in one of the longest VAT frauds to be heard at the Central Criminal Court, and has been involved in defending murders, rapes and large-scale drug importations, to name but a few. More recently he successfully defended an allegation of arson, involving £25m worth of damage to a school in the south of England.
John can accept direct access instructions in C18 Crime and C19 Crime (corporate/fraud).
Publications
In 2005, John was co-author of Blackstones Guide to the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004, including writing the chapters on the newly created offence of causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable adult, and consequent changes to established laws of evidence and procedure.
