Sam Parham
Practice
Sam is a busy criminal practitioner and routinely defends in cases involving serious violence, drug trafficking and sexual offences.
Sam has developed a successful appellate practice and regularly advises on a wide range of appellate cases.
In addition to his criminal practice, Sam has particular expertise in dealing with all aspects of prison law, including judicial review and parole board hearings.
He is also regularly instructed in cases involving confiscation and proceeds of crime and has lectured and written on the subject.
He is Direct Access qualified.

Sexual offences
F (2012) Aylesbury Crown Court – sole counsel defending a juvenile with learning difficulties who was charged with a series of rapes (including at knifepoint) and sexual assaults on his younger sister
R & others (2011) Snaresbrook Crown Court – sole counsel in a multi-handed kidnapping case. The defendants were charged with kidnapping, blackmail, burning the hostage’s head and face, sexual assault and rape.
S & others (2011) Snaresbrook Crown Court – sole counsel representing S, who was charged with the gang rape of a young woman in Ilford
A & others (2011) Thames Youth Court – sole counsel instructed to defend A, an 11 year old boy charged along with others with a series of sexual assaults on girls at his primary school and then blackmailing them
S (2007) Luton Crown Court – junior counsel representing a defendant charged with a series of rapes on his grand daughter

A & others (2010) Snaresbrook Crown Court – sole counsel instructed to defend A charged with s.18 and violent disorder following an incident on the Isle of Dogs where the main complainant was left with appalling injuries after being attacked with a samurai sword and other weapons
W (2010) Guildford Crown Court – instructed to defend W, the owner of a care home, who was charged with wilful neglect/ill treatment of a resident with very severe learning difficulties
A (2008) Lewes Crown Court – junior counsel representing a juvenile charged with murder of his girlfriend’s brother
N & others (2006) Central Criminal Court – junior counsel representing N, a young woman charged along with others, with a murder of a man in the Epping Forest
