Stuart Scott
Practice
Following his call to the Bar in 1998 Stuart spent six years in high street legal aid practice specialising in family law and qualifying as a solicitor in 2002.
At the time of his transfer to the Bar he had developed a strong practice in all areas of family law with a particular emphasis on care proceedings. He represents both children and parents and concentrates on those parents with learning difficulties or mental health and / or addiction problems. Through the Official Solicitor he has represented a number of parents who lack capacity.
His current practice focuses on care proceedings and complex private law cases. He also has an established practice in ancillary relief.
Stuart is approved by the Bar Standards Board for accepting instructions direct from the public.
He also has a keen interest in education law and in particular the interrelationship between the fields of education law and childcare law. He built up a practice in this area prior to transferring to the Bar with a particular emphasis on special educational needs.
